There is a custom that the Ba'al Shem Tov heard from his great master, the prophet Ahiya Hashiloni that after the new moon of the month of Av -Tu B'Av to start wishing each other a "Ktiva V'chatima Tova- A good and sweet year."

According to Kabbalah, the first half of the month of Av-Leo is intense, while the second half is "sweetened" and holds a lot of positive energy.

This week's Torah portion - Eikev, coincides with this unique transition. Eikev means "in the end" or "the heel."
