"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit," we hear in Psalm 34. When embracing the loss of a loved one, we remember death is inevitable, it is not part of God's plan, it's unpredictable, and through all of it, God is with us in our loss. In order for us to embrace the loss of a loved one, we must first accept the reality of the loss, give ourselves permission to grieve, remember God's promises, lean on others and finally, believe in Jesus and the hope of the Resurrection.
