At the moment of His being crucified for our sin, Jesus being in great pain from the torture He already endured; refused the mixture of sour wine and gall offered to Him by the Roman soldiers. This mixture would have acted as a sort of numbing agent or pain killer. Already in great agony, and with more to come; Jesus refused it. Instead choosing to feel every ounce pain. Choosing instead to be fully aware of each step of death. Why? So through pain and death, He is now fully able to release life to us... He also gave us an example by which we are to live for others...
