In this live-streamed lecture within the "Electromagnetic Compatibility" module, we did a quick recap of the Hertzian (or electric) dipole and the Fitzgerald (or magnetic) dipole. Then, we discussed typical antenna parameters like the effective antenna length, the effective antenna area, the directivity or the radiation resistance for different types of antenna. We also looked at a small example of an interference analysis. Finally, we did some measurements with a simple dipole antenna and a logarithmic-periodic dipole antenna on a printed circuit board using a vector network analyser.
