Emerson Resort and Spa isn’t far from Saratoga. It’s an easy ride, less than 100 miles down Route 87 South. Recently, I visited the resort with Leanne, a friend I’ve known since 2000, when I moved to Upstate New York from Massachusetts. We were interested in what the resort offered, mainly whether we could park the car and stay on the property for the weekend. It would be a nice little Staycation if we didn’t have to think about driving anywhere. But, would there be enough to keep us occupied? We were about to find out. I loved how helpful the front desk was—checking us in and giving us the low-down on things we could do during our weekend stay. They helped with our spa appointments and dinner arrangements, and handed us a schedule for classes that are available and free to hotel guests. I was happy to learn these classes are also available to the general public for a nominal charge. Talk about community-building!
