Listen Later

Emi Trost was a statewide middle distance standout during her prep career at Cannon Falls High School. After earning state championships in cross country, 800m, and 2-mile, she decided to compete at the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

While earning a degree in Exercise Science, Emi set school records in distances ranging in the 600 to 3000 meters, earned 10 All-American honors, and brought home the 2017 NCAA DII Championship in the 1500 meters.

Now running professionally, Emi has stayed true to Minnesota, transitioning to elite training group Minnesota Distance Elite.

To supplement her training with Team USA Minnesota, She is in the process of becoming a registered dietitian and prides herself in promoting a look at what she eats to train for her running lifestyle.

Emi recently recovered from having a peach sized hemangioma tumor that was in her knee since 2006. She has recently started competing again in the 800.
