Emily is a college educator, content creator, and college football fanatic. Emily has always been passionate about education, so much so that she earned her Ph.D. in Communications Studies and now is a college educator where she teaches various courses related to communications. Communication is a key skill that can impact an individual's life in a multitude of ways. Over the last few years with the pandemic, communication skills and practices have been impacted and even changed. Emily shares a bit about how communication has been impacted and how the way that she educates has changed a bit as well. In addition to what Emily is doing now, she chats about her personal academic journey and the challenges of burnout and imposter syndrome. While it makes perfect sense, this conversation with Emily reinforced the idea to me that content creation highly relies on communication. With this perfect pairing, it only seems natural that Emily also does content creation as a fun passion project. Emily also lives by the idea of cultivating kindness. While I think Emily is highly accomplished and a really cool person, what really resonates with me is her passion for positivity and cultivating kindness. I love the community that she has built through kindness and I love the way that Emily educates and lives her regular day to day life while cultivating kindness. I truly believe that the world can always use a little extra kindness, and I think Emily is doing a great job helping to pave that way forward.
In this episode Emily talks about communication, cultivating kindness, college football, and much more!
