Emma Dearling is an Epilepsy Action advocate and Miss GB Surrey finalist who can be found on social media as The Epileptic Illustrator.
In this week's episode, we discuss Emma's experience of being diagnosed with epilepsy as an adult, and how it changed her life and approach to it both in the short and long term.
We chat which relationships broke down, which were found and which became stronger, as well as why this happened in each instance, the feeling of not being enough, and how being turned away from a PT position has since been alchemised as a full wellbeing event.
From Emma's description of seizure types to ictal asystole, boundary setting to starting again, there's so much in this episode for anyone who aspires, who feels like they've grown up, out or away from family, friends and towns and/or is living with hidden disability.
