EMOTIONAL HEALING
Isaiah 53:4-5 – Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
Hebrews 4:12 – Read.
Man is a 3 part being. You are a spirit you live in a body and you have a soul. The SOUL consists of the mind, will and emotions. Emotions belong to the soul. God joined the body and soul together with His breath. The devil wants to control the throne of your mind which affects your will, emotions and body.
Researchers found there are 27 distinct dimensions of emotions. 5 Basic Emotions: happiness, sadness, disgust, fear, and anger.
Unhappiness has been linked to a variety of poor health outcomes. Stress, anxiety, depression, and loneliness, for example, have been linked to things such as lowered immunity, increased inflammation, and decreased life expectancy. Nehemiah 8:10 – The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Sadness is characterized by feelings of disappointment, grief, hopelessness, disinterest, and dampened mood. Sadness can often lead people to engage in coping mechanisms such as avoiding other people, self- medicating, and meditating on negative thoughts. Romans14:17 – For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Fear is the emotional response to an immediate threat. We can also develop a similar reaction to anticipated threats or even our thoughts about potential dangers, and this is what we generally think of as anxiety. Can cause reactions such as rapid breathing and heartbeat. I John 4:18 – There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. I Timothy 1:7 – For God has given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and a sound mind.
Disgust cause (someone) to feel revulsion or profound disapproval." I was disgusted with myself for causing so much misery". People can also experience moral disgust when they observe others engaging in behaviors that they find distasteful, immoral, or evil.
Anger can be a particularly powerful emotion characterized by feelings of hostility, agitation, frustration, and antagonism towards others. Anger can become a problem when it is excessive or expressed in ways that are unhealthy, dangerous, or harmful to others. Uncontrolled anger can quickly turn to aggression, abuse, or violence. Anger has been linked to coronary heart diseases and diabetes. It has also been linked to behaviors that pose health risks such as aggressive driving, alcohol consumption, and smoking. Ephesians 4:26: Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger. James 1:9 - But let everyone be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger.
