About Justin
Justin is father to Max and Maesie, Co-Founder of Max Love and Yes Collective, and an Emotional Health Coach.
Justin has a PhD in geography and Public Health.
Here Justin shares his journey from coping with his son's rare brain cancer diagnosis to learning how to help Max, and his whole family to thrive. Then spreading their therapeutic approach to support other families. We touch on his holistic approach to health, with a nourishing ketogenic diet, mindfulness, movement and sleep practices.
Justin now specialises in emotional and mental wellbeing, for all families, individuals and workplaces.
We talk about:
* Work home life balance - with puppies and homeschool.
* The atom bomb that changed the course of Justin's life.
* Max Love Project - starting a non-profit while fighting for their son’s life.
* Helping families to access integrative therapies - with sleep, nutrition, movement, mindfulness.
* His own personal health approach - "I needed to change a lot of things".
* How Justin now deals with parenting challenges, by noticing, improving communication and emotional resilience.
* Justin’s mantra of the ‘minimum effective dose’ - why more is not always better..
* The pathway to emotional health - "It's not fun at first - to start to open up to that anxiety, to those fears, to be with ourselves". Stick around to the end - as Justin explains the two steps parents can take to destress - at home immediately. The steps can lead to really big emotional and mental health changes, but it just starts here, with 2 simple steps..

This discussion is around developing the awareness and skills to improve your own and your family's emotional wellbeing. We don't go into detail about Justin's son Max's brain cancer, but just to say that he is thriving, with the love, support and tools of his family and community. Justin and his wife Audra are a rare and special type of people. Those that dig in to support their loved one, but also care deeply about others so reach out to share that learning, love, expertise and support with the wider community.
