Holding the dubious honor of being the last EMP DJ to put a mix out with us before we put the whole series on ice in 2018, ‘Alen Trance Guy’ has been fighting the good fight pushing trance in an often reluctant (re: hostile) EMP for years. It's apparent the persistence has paid off. There's been all variety of hands in the air, galloping, 4 on the floor, ARP heavy goodness on the Twitch shows from nose-thumbing IRC old guard and newcomers alike, not to mention the man himself under his ‘C0MP1LER’ moniker. Now he’s returned a few aliases later as the aptly named Peak Xcelerent with a full throated, triumphant mix of hard trance and eurodance. This is straight out of our ‘Faster Faster’ nights at their best and definitely not one to miss. In his own words:

Ah…the glory days of trance. When the tunes were harder, the pills were stronger, and the parties went longer. The genre hit its apex at the turn of the millennium before entering a slow nosedive. Trance is commercial cheese for bright-eyed kids who just discovered the scene and would soon move on to more sophisticated subgenres of dance music, they said. And then - from the ashes of a pandemic which crippled the world physically, socially, and psychologically - a new breed of producer and DJ emerged and pointedly asked, “why so serious?” Isn’t raving and dance music supposed to be about having fun, indulging the senses, and freedom to express oneself without inhibition or reservation? This is my response: 90 minutes of no-nonsense, dancefloor-oriented originals, sexy Eurodance and pop reworks, and classic gems straight from the genre’s prime.
