Empathetic Educators with Naomi Toland

Listen Later

In this episode of the STEM ED Podcast, I chat with Preschool Head Teacher, Google Innovator and Founder of Empathetic Educators, Naomi Toland. Naomi and I chat about the importance for educators to understand neuroscience and psychology when working with students in the classroom, as well as for our own mental and emotional wellbeing. We discuss Naomi's fantastic acronym of N.E.R.D.Y. when considering what it means to be an empathetic educator.
Naomi hosts a weekly Twitter chat using the hashtag #Empathetic_Educators, every Sunday at 6pm (UK time). She also shares a wealth of knowledge and experience around empathy and neuroscience on her Podcast.
Naomi has also written the foreword for our upcoming Issue 5 of the STEM ED Magazine, which can be ordered here.
