Listen Later

Discover the harsh realities of poverty and its impact on individuals as we, a group of middle school students, analyze the mental health effects, summer hunger, and the intersections of poverty, gender, race, and religious belief. Be ready to challenge your preconceptions about poverty and recognize the importance of empathy and understanding, as we debunk common myths and discuss the need to help those in need rather than judge them.

In the second half of our eye-opening conversation, we tackle the various forms of violence against the poor, from hostile architecture to overpolicing and physical violence, and how these are perpetuated by stereotypes and media bias. Join us as we explore potential solutions to alleviate poverty and strive to break down the stigmas surrounding it, ultimately fostering a more compassionate society.
