Empathy is not about “walking in another person’s shoes” as we commonly say, according to Dr. Ashok Bhattacharya. He’s on the show today sharing his experience in teaching empathy long before it became the buzzword it is now. He shares with us his story behind why understanding others became so important to him, the most important lessons he’s learned along the way, and how we can all strive to be more empathetic in our day to day lives - both toward each other AND ourselves. He also breaks down the difference between self-empathy and self-love. This is a conversation for everyone to better understand empathy in a way you’re not going to hear in popular media and news today.
Dr. Bhattacharya is a psychiatrist in private practice for over 38 years. He is the founder of THE EMPATHY CLINIC. The clinic uses empathy to diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health disorders in individuals and couples.
