The Empire - United We Stand

1. Exposing The Empire Killer #strife&division

Matt 16:23 He said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”The spirit of strife needs a willing host to operate

Jd 17:19 These are sensual people, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

2 Tim 2:23-26 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Heb 12:15 watch carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God (his undeserved blessing and favor); and the root of bitterness spring up causing trouble, and it defiles many

Rom 16:17 Now I urge you, brethren, mark those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the teaching which you learned, and avoid them.

Eph 4:26-27 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your anger 27 nor give place to the devil.

2. How strife and trusting God effects our prosperity

Gen 13:6-9 And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram’s and Lot’s. 8 So Abram said to Lot, “Please let there be no strife between you and me, and our herdsmen 9 Please separate from me. If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.” 10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the Lord. 11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.

Abraham took less because he trusted God with his future
As long as we’re in strife we’re not in faith and we have to take care of ourselves, Lot chose to take care of himself and became insignificant
Abraham chose to trust God and He became rich and powerful

Refusing to try to take care of yourself produces humility and that act of Faith places the believer in the direct line of God’s exaltation

1 Pet 5:6-7 humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Gen 12:1-3 The Lord had said to Abram: 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Gen 15:1 the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

Ps 91:15 because he set his love and trust on me He shall call on Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver and honor him.

Jer 39:18 As a reward for trusting me I’ll preserve your life and keep you safeMatt 6:6 your Father Who sees in secret will reward you openly
