Episode 13 — I Thought Something Was Missing

What if the thing you’ve spent years searching for was never actually missing?

In this final episode of Season One, I look back at a journey that started with a simple question about weight loss—and somehow opened a much bigger door.

I thought there had to be an answer. A connection. A reason. Something buried in my past that, if I could just uncover it, would finally explain everything.

And when awareness started showing up, something interesting happened.

I doubted it.

I questioned it.

I tried to figure it out.

And at times, I even tried to talk myself out of what I already knew.

But curiosity kept me from shutting the door.

This episode isn’t really about weight. It’s about the stories we tell ourselves, the answers we search for, and our tendency to believe there must still be one more thing we need to fix, understand, or uncover before we can finally be okay.

Maybe awareness isn’t about finding the perfect answer.

Maybe it’s about becoming willing to see the answers that have been there all along.

 Love Found Me When I Stopped Looking

 After years of heartache, divorce, single motherhood, and learning who I really was, I wasn't searching for another relationship. I was simply living my life one day at a time. Then something unexpected happened. A night of playing pool introduced me to the man who would become my husband. What began as a simple meeting grew into a relationship built on honesty, respect, and a promise we made to each other from the very beginning: "Don't do anything you wouldn't want me to do." It wasn't a fairy tale. We were two people with histories, children, and life experiences that would require patience, grace, and commitment. But for the first time, I experienced a relationship where friendship came before everything else. In this episode, I share how love entered my life when I had finally begun finding peace within myself—and why healing yourself first changes the kind of love you're able to receive.

For five long years, I waited.

Month after month, hope would rise and then quietly fade. Each passing year brought more questions, more uncertainty, and more wondering if motherhood was ever going to be part of my story. There were moments when I tried to stay positive and moments when I feared it simply wasn’t meant to be.

Then something unexpected happened.

After years of waiting, praying, hoping, and wondering, I finally became pregnant.

In this episode, I share the emotional journey of infertility, the heartbreak of unanswered questions, and the overwhelming joy that came with discovering I was finally going to have a baby. This isn’t just a story about pregnancy. It’s a story about faith, perseverance, and learning that life doesn’t always arrive on our timeline.

Sometimes the things we desire most take the longest to appear. Sometimes the waiting season teaches us lessons we could not have learned any other way. And sometimes, just when we’ve begun to release our grip on how things should happen, life surprises us in ways we never imagined.
