This week Pastor Justin speaks to how the Spirit of Christ Empowers certain individuals to make an impact and affect change in the lives of others. Our text for this week will be Acts 9:1-20, shining the sermonic spotlight on Acts 9:10-20, 22:12. Our subject will be "Empowered Life: Empowered Individuals" and we will see how God uses ordinary but yet obedient individuals to invest in the lives of others for the sake of the kingdom.
This week's sermon based growth group questions are:
What is an incendiary fellowship?
Why is it important for us to understand what it is to be an incendiary fellowship or a church on fire? What does that mean for us in this day and age?
Share with your group a time when you where adamant about a subject or situation and you were refusing to change your viewpoint or listen to other opinions on the subject?
Share with the group a time when you wanted to do someone harm or wished bad for someone and God used that same individual to bless you?
Share with the group a time when God used and empowered individual to empower you?
Discuss a time when you thought your vision was clear concerning a situation but realistically in retrospect your vision was off. Who or what helped you to see clearly? How did this affect you?
Talk about a time when God selected you to bless someone who you know meant you no good?What did it take for you to be obedient to God in spite of what you knew about this particular individuals feelings for you?
Read Acts 9:1-20. Would you have helped Saul if you were Ananias?
When God uses individuals to empower others what is the evidence of of God working according to this text concerning Saul's conversion?
As empowered individuals, what does Christ call us to do for others looking through the lenses of the church being an incendiary fellowship?
