Empowering Women in Nigeria

Listen Later

It's easy to hear a problem and assume a simple solution.  But when it comes to the micro-economics of international economic development it isn't always so black and white.  Poverty isn't as simple as giving food or money or jobs.  Education isn't as simple as paying for a child's school fees.  There are so many obstacles that trigger new obstacles to create the cycle of poverty.  Today we speak with Peace Ebong, Founder of Dare Women Initiative a non-governmental mission seeking to empower women in Nigeria.  Peace herself is only 26 years old and through her own journey and grits is creating incredible change for women throughout the country.  Join us as we learn not only the obstacles for women in Africa but also, the nuanced and not-always-simple solutions.  Be inspired by a young woman refusing to let obstacles stand in her own way all while standing in the gap for others to do the same!
