Today, on our very first  episode, we're going to give you an introduction to what Portugal was, or in fact, what it wasn't, before the birth of King Afonso I, (or as he is known in Portugal, King Afonso Henriques) and all the events that led up to that moment, including the conflict between Christians and Muslims and some of the most important characters that enabled the formation of a new Christian kingdom in the Iberian peninsula, Portugal.
