It’s easy to understand how those who are seeking closeness with the Creator will turn to creation to do so. Some of the earliest religions thought that God was a being that was constrained to places or objects. Even some of us who consider ourselves followers of Christ say that we feel closer to God in certain places – the mountains, the beach, or a comfy chair in our home with our favorite Bible and a cup of coffee. Are we worshipping the creation, rather than the Creator? God is everywhere. The best way to feel closer to God is by going to Him with a heart that recognizes our place in our relationship with Him and with an earnest desire to be transformed by Him.
 
Connor, Jason, and Teresa dive deep into the difference between using objects or nature as an aid in worship versus relying on or worshipping the creation itself. Connor points out that worshiping nature instead of God devalues God and gives Him the same worth as something He spoke into existence.
