Encina Severa has lived with dissociative identity disorder (known as 'DID') for her entire life, with eleven alter personalities that were formed as a coping mechanism in response to childhood trauma.

DID (previously known as multiple personality disorder) is a complex medical disorder where a person presents multiple distinct personalities, which can display in their voice, physical body language as well as the name they identify as. The disorder is also accompanied by amnesia.

In this conversation, Encina tells Daisy about the background to her DID, talks through her alters and the challenges she faces living with DID.
