All owners are members of the condo association, the association is like a mini government, the owners elect a board to represent them, and the board has the authority to make decisions to run the association.
Owners should get involved because 1) for many, condo is their most valuable asset and want to protect it, and 2) it is your home where you spend a lot of time – you want it to be your happy place.
Get informed by reviewing governing docs to learn how your association operates and be familiar with the house rules.
How can you get involved? Attend association meeting, vote, attend board meetings, and volunteer for a committee or run for the board.
Board should acknowledge and address owners’ complaints.
