Spurgeon was converted on January 6, 1850 during a sermon on Isaiah 45:22, “Look unto me and be ye saved all ye ends of the earth.”

Six years later he said, “I shall never forget that day, while memory holds its place; nor can I help repeating this text whenever I remember that hour when first I knew the Lord.”
