It is not common to see people talking to themselves. Others tend to view this behaviour as a sign of losing touch with reality or a form of derailment.
Perhaps we need a re-think on the value of the act of talking to oneself.
In Psalm 42, we see the Psalmist talking to himself about his depressed soul before even talking to God about it.
When you are depressed, remember to take advantage of the spiritual antidepressants in Psalm 42.
Question your soul, testify about God’s goodness, admonish yourself to hope in the Lord. Minister to yourself, as David did, by personally applying the very encouragement you have given others.
