He cites Biblical examples of what will happen in the End Times and compares that with what we are seeing today. Technology may be the vehicle that Antichrist uses during his brief tenure. A question arose during the election cycle about how Christians could vote for someone as obviously flawed as President Trump. Dr. Ben Voth (benvoth.com), Associate Professor and Director of Debate at Southern Methodist University, joins us to address that question. Several leaders in the Bible were less than righteous, including Paul and David. The question is: can the person get the job done? Dr. Voth also looks at the quality of presidential debates, what can be done to change them, and the importance globally of teaching debate.
Finally this week, John reaches out to the other side of the ideological aisle to try and bridge the divide. He speaks with Mark Sommer, an award-winning radio and print journalist – and noted progressive. They use climate change and alternative fuels as an issue on which to come together. Unless people can push aside their differences and come up with realistic solutions that work on the ground, the divide doesn't get bridged and nothing is ever accomplished.
