Chapter 28: A Misread Message
'“I’m just saying, Tommy Boy. Two poxy gigs in… how many?” “Thirty-nine,” his manager responded without missing a beat. “There we go, Thirty-nine.” Zach smiled his pearly-white smile. “I’d say we’re doing all right.” Tom rolled his eyes. “You do realise you’ll basically be performing at Chicago and Newcastle for free?” “You keep trying to say that. But I’ve seen what that festival incident did to my record sales.” He studied his friend’s reaction; the man flinched as expected and Zach grinned. “Yeah, thought that little fact sailed by me, didn’t you? The old adage is right on the nose, eh? —No such thing as bad publicity.”'
