Paul, as Timothy's spiritual father, in the faith provided encouragement for Timothy even in the midst of his crisis, being in chains. Paul encouraged Timothy, which we also should remember in the body of Christ, that there is no leadership without adversity. Paul knew that Timothy had endured hardship but through his discipling relationship, he made sure Timothy grew and persevered in the will of God. Through the nurturing relationship built, he admonished Timothy to go through the hurts, hardships and still do the will of God. (Part 1 of 3)
