Energizer Connect Patio String Lights Unboxed: RGB Outdoor Lighting System

Listen Later

Description

The Energizer Connect Wi‑Fi Patio String Lights are introduced as a multicolor, RGB outdoor lighting system designed for patios, pergolas, backyards, and decorative spaces. The product is part of the Gem Global ecosystem, sharing lineage with the Monster Smart Lights used in the studio. This unboxing explores the hardware, mounting options, waterproof connectors, and the pairing process within the Energizer Connect app.

First Look at the Packaging

The box opens from the bottom, revealing a quick‑start guide with a QR code for downloading the Energizer Connect app. The documentation includes pairing instructions, installation guidance, voice assistant setup, and scene configuration. As with other Gem Global products, the manual is detailed and clearly structured.

Included Mounting Hardware

A set of clips is included for attaching the lights to gutters, pergolas, or other outdoor structures. The clips allow the cable to be routed cleanly along edges or beams. The lights themselves support multiple mounting methods:

  • A top‑mounted hole for string‑based hanging
  • Clip‑based mounting using the included hardware
  • A hollow side section that allows a screw to be used for permanent installation
  • These options make the lights adaptable to a wide range of outdoor setups.
Power and Control Unit

The power supply features waterproof screw‑on connectors designed for outdoor durability. The long cable allows flexible placement of the control unit, which houses the Wi‑Fi module and a physical pairing button. Mounting holes on the control box allow it to be secured to a pergola, wall, or other structure to prevent movement in windy conditions.

Expandable Light String

At the end of the string is a waterproof junction connector. This allows additional strings to be attached in sequence. The system supports up to 120 bulbs on a single power supply, meaning up to ten 12‑bulb strings can be connected in a linear run.

Pairing and Setup

When powered on, the lights initially illuminate white, then switch to blinking red to indicate pairing mode. Within the Energizer Connect app:

  • A new device is added
  • The lights are detected or manually selected
  • The app connects to Wi‑Fi
  • The lights confirm pairing by returning to solid white

Once added, the app requests the number of bulbs in the string to ensure animations match the physical layout.

App Features

The app provides extensive control options:

  • On/off control
  • Full RGB color wheel with saturation adjustment
  • Individual bulb control
  • Predefined animated scenes
  • Music‑responsive lighting modes
  • Countdown timers for scheduled shutoff

The depth of color control and scene customization is notable, offering a wide range of aesthetic possibilities.

Wi‑Fi Compatibility

Although many modern Energizer Connect products support both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, this particular model uses 2.4 GHz exclusively.
