Hamed has been living on Lesvos for seven years after fleeing Iran. While many move on, he made the decision to stay and build a life here. He now works with Makerspace, an NGO that repairs electronics, bikes, and other essentials for people living in the camp. His work is practical, but also deeply personal—helping people maintain a sense of dignity and normalcy in difficult circumstances.
In this episode, we talk about why he stayed, what home means to him, and the challenges of life on an island where everything feels temporary. People come, people go—how does it feel to always say goodbye? How does he navigate friendships, work, and uncertainty? And what are his dreams for the future?
