On today’s podcast, Don sat down with Bill Fuoco, director of Business Development at Engage Energy & Industrial Consulting, to answer some questions about common themes we are seeing in the industry, and where we see opportunities for 2021.
In his role, Bill has the pleasure of speaking with business leaders everyday about the issues that are impacting their business. Certainly, in the industries we serve – Energy, Utilities and Oil & Gas, we are seeing several common issues: The Energy price environment, The Covid-19 pandemic, A new Presidential Administration, Increased Merger activity, Getting back to the basics of sound Asset Management, and a focus on Sustainability.
Our topic of conversation today is Quality Management Systems in the Oil and Gas Horizontal Drilling industry. A Quality Management System is a framework that optimizes internal processes and policies for the continuous improvement of quality.
The approach builds on clear documentation of roles and responsibilities, procedures for each function, then continuously evaluates those processes for quality. Quality management is not just about eliminating errors or prevent them from recurring. It’s also about corporate culture. Ignoring small issues increases risk. And accepting failures inhibits an organization from pushing quality requirements out to vendors and other suppliers.
Deep Well Services is one of the few companies in this industry that has earned the American Petroleum Institute (API) Q2 and the International Standards Organization (ISO) quality management system accreditation.
