Engaging Scripture: Conversations in Biblical Studies

Nijay kicks off a new exciting interview series, My Career in Biblical Studies, where he chats with world renowned scholars about their lives as scholars, writers, teachers, and leaders. First up, Dr. Tremper Longman.

Glenn and Nijay continue their Philippians series.

Special guest Dr. Glenn Packiam and Dr. Nijay Gupta continue their series, Engaging Philippians, with the first part of chapter 2 in this episode.

Dr. Nijay Gupta and pastor-theologian Rev. Dr. Glenn Packiam begin a series talking about Paul's letter to the Philippians. This first episode gets into the background and context of the letter and Philippians Chapter 1.

Nijay chats with widely-respected Pauline scholar Dr. Clint Arnold about his new technical commentary on Colossians with the Word Biblical Commentary series from Zondervan Academic.

Nijay chats with Dr. Holly Beers about the new Word and Spirit Commentary series from Baker Academic, which she co-edits with Craig Keener. (NB: There is a microphone malfunction at the end of the episode, apologies for quality issues.)

I'm excited to kick off a new season of Engaging Scripture! We start with Dr. Joel Green (Fuller Seminary). Joel and I chat about his career, his approach to teaching and scholarship, and his brand new New Testament Library commentary on James.

Dr. David Capes joins the show to talk about his new book, Matthew Through OT Eyes, a great resource highlighting the Jewish background and context of the First Gospel.

Dr. Dennis Edwards (North Park Theological Seminary) sat down for an interview about his new book Humility Illuminated. Learn about what the Bible means and doesn't mean by humility, and how humility is more of a posture towards God than it is a certain set of actions. You'll love this insightful conversation, listen in and get the book to learn more.

Engaging Scripture has a new series, "Writers on Writers," where I (Nijay) talk about respected writers in biblical studies about the art and science of writing, ups and downs, successes and failures, and everything in between.
