Based on the true story of the Uruguayan rugby players whose plane crashed in the Andes in 1972, Society of the Snow is up for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars this year. It's also up for 13 Goya Awards (Spain's own film awards). One of them being for Best Special Effects. Manuel Ramirez is the Director of Studio at El Ranchito, the Spanish VFX company that worked on Society of the Snow from day one, and which has years of experience working on international productions (such as Stranger Things, Game Of Thrones, The Mandelorian...).
