Dr. Julie Esparza Brown joins PaTTANPod to explore how educators can improve literacy and language outcomes for English learners (ELs) with disabilities by embedding culturally and linguistically appropriate instruction into existing multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS). Dr. Brown introduces the PLUSS Model, a framework designed to infuse evidence-based second language acquisition practices within each MTSS tier and provide tailored support for dually identified students, and a tool that educators can use reflect on their implementation of PLUSS strategies.
