Joe finds herself floating in zero gravity aboard the International Space Station, five weeks before the events described. She communicates with her daughter and husband Magnus exclusively through video calls, eagerly awaiting the conclusion of her year-long stay on the ISS. A pleasant conversation with her family is abruptly interrupted by a sudden collision with the station. Tragedy strikes as one cosmonaut loses their life, and three others are evacuated using the Soyuz 2 spacecraft. Despite the significant damage to the Soyuz 1 shuttle, Joe courageously volunteers to repair it and retrieve a capsule containing the joint experiment results of NASA and Roscosmos.
