Despite the fact that the movie opens in a hospice centre, which may have been a depressing place, the atmosphere is pleasantly upbeat and even joyful. Sam, a patient who is near death, grudgingly reads her humorous, profanity-filled poetry. I was immediately captivated by Nyong'o's captivating charisma and Sam's audacity and sardonic humour. She gets along well with her nurse, who takes her on a special expedition to a Marionette theatre. They have no idea that this is their last chance to live a normal life without having to worry about being threatened by creatures that can hear ultrasonic sounds.
