Enkindle 76 – 10.24.21 – Don’t Listen to the Crowd
In this reflection for the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Erik Arnold reminds us to go to Jesus, no matter what the crowd may be saying to us.
We were made for Jesus. We were made to follow Jesus. But sometimes the people in our life, the crowds around us, try to stop that from happening. Sometimes they try to discourage us, sometimes they’re angry at us for trying to follow Jesus. Maybe you can think of some people in your life right now who try to do that to you, who try to lead you the wrong way.
What do we do? Today let’s pray for the grace and help to do what Bartimaeus did: to ignore the crowd and focus on Jesus, to listen to Jesus as he calls us.
