This is Part 2 of a two-part podcast featuring Dr. Ernest Moniz, former  Secretary of Energy, a PhD nuclear physicist, and a world-renowned expert on nuclear energy.  In this Part, Dr. Moniz answers questions posed by Bruce Diamond, Vice President of the Association, covering nuclear waste disposal, the challenge of meeting rising electricity demand, and the financial, industrial, and market conditions needed to build new nuclear power.  In Part 1, Secretary Moniz shared his views on the future of nuclear fission and nuclear fusion as commercially viable sources of electricity. He also talked about Iran's nuclear program, the stated reason for President Trump's war against Iran, and a proposed nuclear energy deal with Saudi Arabia. Former U.S. Energy Secretary Dr. Ernest Moniz, a nuclear physicist and one of the world’s leading experts on nuclear energy, shares his views on the future of nuclear power in this session from the EPA Alumni Association’s Academy.
