He was a volunteer for the Ifugao Peasant Movement, a human rights worker with the Cordillera Human Rights alliance, and a journalist with the Northern Dispatch in the Northern Part of the Philippines when he was shot and hit four places by the 54th Infantry Battalion of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in August 2019 rendering him a Quadriplegic, paralyzed in his hands and from the chest down.
