On November 30- December 1, 1990, the Federalist Society hosted its annual National Lawyers Convention at the Hotel InterContinental in New Orleans, Louisiana, titled "Legal Systems in Transition: New Directions for Eastern Europe." The second day of the conference included a luncheon discussion on "Environmental Issues in Eastern Europe: Learning from the United States' Mistakes."
