From weed to music, Sonia Erika is the daughter of formerly undocumented laborers. Her mission is to use multi media content to explore the narratives of laborers, to demystify capitalism, cannabis, and tech all while humanizing sex workers. She creates content in a variety of mediums such as video editing, graphic design, group facilitation, listening. Her vision is to connect the physical and virtual world in a holistic health conscious manner She is very familiar with collectives and cooperatives. It is her ideal working space. Although there are challenges she appreciate working in a non-hierarchical structure, which is why she’s so excited for web3 and blockchain technologies. She tells stories through music with a nomadic band under the title @DeathIsABusiness "Papaya” is the first album she created in Mexico after 21 years of being an "illegal alien.” DIAB records music with individuals from various countries including: Mexico, Peru, and Brazil. Prior to music Sonia Erika I lobbied to legalize weed for black and brown people in the state of Massachusetts. Aside from DIAB, Sonia Erika is a member of @eatme.land a collective empowering travelers, artists, and co-ops.
