The WBC (World Boxing Council) invited Ryan Garcia to come forward and discuss the probability of entering a fight for the interim title. He would face England’s Luke Campbell. After deliberation with his promotion company, Garcia graciously accepted the offer. The WBC ordered the fight on July 1 after discussion with his promoters at Golden Boy Promotions.
Golden Boy Promotions agreed that Ryan Garciawill take part in the first of a series of lightweight fights sanctioned by the WBC. Now the promoters from both ends need to finally come to a mutual agreement and put a seal on this matter. The two sides will have till the end of July to agree upon terms, and the winner of the contest will get a shot at reigning WBC titlist Devin Haney.
