We did not enter the Information Age because information began to exist, we entered it because a widespread information base became accessible to the masses. Information has always existed. Historically, though, it was difficult for the average person to get access to any sort of information they desired.
The Information Age changed that. It was made so available that it has lost its scarcity and become a commodity. Because of the discernment of modern consumers, their attention has taken the place of information as the item of value.
Audience has both the scarcity and the accessibility to the masses that makes it a modern currency. So, because of it’s common value in the marketplace, we are now in the Audience Age.
