The Modern Recordist with Jon Stinson | Inspiring insights with creative visionaries, artists, songwriters, and producers

EP: 011 – Psychedelic music, the inspirational process of “breaking up with yourself”, and letting go of “how it needs to be” with John Condit of The Inscape

Listen Later

On this episode of The Modern Recordist, we have John Condit, frontman of the Nashville psychedelic rock band, The Inscape. We talk about the rapid change and massive growth of the city of Nashville, as well as some of it’s legendary music venues, such as The Bluebird Cafe and Exit/In.
We also talk about our mutual love for psychedelic music, the inspirational process of “breaking up with yourself”, rethinking the album release process, how to keep the music making process fun, feeling your way through the songwriting process (as opposed to thinking too much), letting go of “how it needs to be”, and where the band name The Inscape came from (this is a really cool story).
John plays a couple songs live, and shares a track from The Inscape’s forthcoming album as well.
