Today's Episode 14 listen as she talked about that day on June 1993 when she saw her younger sister drowned.
This interview was a hard one for me as it hit really close to home. However it needs to be done and told.
She recounts the events of that day. She was only 8 years-old but yet remembers it as if it was just yesterday. For us parents who have lost a child we don't understand or think how what happens affects them into adulthood.
She talks about anger, hate and the guilt she feels about that day.
She is now a mother of 3 children, 10 and younger. She has carried this fear of the water from that day. It has formed some of her decisions on water safety with her fear when it comes to putting her children in swim lessons.
How our loss has changed the world that we may never know. The memory is there. People don't forget.
I mentioned this book as we were talking by Andy Andrews The Travelers Gift
I highly recommend this book for anyone going through a big change in life, looking for direction and purpose.
