Trae’s father started, grew and sold a company called Carolina Restoration & Construction. Trae worked for him in the summer times and holidays during high school and college. He learned a lot about the industry in those days and had the added bonus of hearing what the field workers were concerned about and then got the admin side of it too. 

 

In 2010, his father told him, he was selling the company he had worked at for so long as 2008 had hurt everyone and he was going to retire. For nearly two years, Trae would end up doing different jobs like teaching golf, selling life insurance and other weird stuff. None of which he had a real passion for. So, he set his sites on starting his own restoration company called Southern Restoration & Construction.
