Fashion videographer and street photographer David Geffin on the Be Inspired Photography Podcast.

In this week’s show, we chat to fashion videographer and street photographer David Geffin about his digital workflow, sharpening your skills and why he shoots on film.

David Geffin’s Bio:

David is a photographer, videographer and video editor based in New York since 2012, and originally from London, England. David grew up learning the basics of photography from his father who was a keen amateur, turning the attic into a small dark room where they would develop and make prints.

David Geffin’s video and editing skills have helped him win commercial clients since moving to New York, most recently working with Vincent Laforet for “Project AIR”, where he has provided commercial video content for Vincent and sponsors, such as G-Technology, Canon US and Canon Australia.

As well as providing video content for commercial clients, David works closely with a number of NYC-based professional photographers, including Peter Hurley, Emily Soto, Lindsay Adler and Erik Valind, producing branded and educational content for them.

Film Photography.

David’s focus for his personal work is in the form of candid street photography. David Geffin has spent the last year shooting film on the streets of New York as part of an ongoing project that aims to document the city and it’s inhabitants, as well as to sharpen his photographic eye.

While David embraces the world of digital photo and video, in the last year, he has found that going back to shooting film for his street work has been an excellent training tool to sharpen his visual eye and continues to shoot film every day in the city.
