Our guest at the table tonight was Dr. Rosemary Malague, director of the Theatre Arts Program at the University of Pennsylvania, and the author of An Actress Prepares: Women and “the Method” (https://www.routledge.com/.../Malague/p/book/9780415681575), the first book to conduct a feminist examination of American, Stanislavsky-based, actor training traditions. We talked about women in theater, Stanislavsky, American acting training programs, auditioning, and #metoo in the theater.
