The Uncommon Christian Podcast with Michael Hinton

EP 04 Common Truth vs. Uncommon Truth

Listen Later

Following Jesus will require of us to take our absolute truth into a subjective truth world. [ALERT - this episode broke my rule of 18 mins. So I hope you have a minute or two to spare. I promise, I’ll be better next time!]

Episode Notes:

- Relative Truth is based on perspective. What may be true for one person could be seen as not true for another person.

- Uncommon truth reveal broken truth.

- Woman at the well is found in John, chapter 4.

- Jewish people felt superior to the Samaritan people (seriously).

- Paul with the fire in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (strength through weakness).

- Relative truth is only as good as the next truth. If you live by this, you’ll always be searching for the next truth to hold on to.

- God puts people in your life on purpose, for a purpose.

- Love and grace without truth is empty faith - Truth without love and grace is brutal faith.

- We speak truth not to shame people away from Jesus, but to amplify our need for Jesus

- Love some Brené Brown: https://brenebrown.com/

- We speak truth not to bring despair, but to bring hope

- We speak truth not to create chains, but to create transformation.
