During slavery in America; a lot of slaves wanted to escape to the North to freedom and they would follow the northern star which is how Harriet Tubman became so popular as she helped a lot of slaves to freedom through the Underground Railroad. While there were a lot of white people that did not believe in slavery who helped and aided the slaves. The ANCESTRY.COM commercial’s attempt to whitewash slavery by turning an otherwise horrible thing into something ‘’human’’ is despicable. There was nothing romantic about slavery; a lot of black people were raped and bred like animals. In this episode I give my two cents about this and the fact that this is just a subliminal message to advocate and facilitate the tearing down of the fabric of the black family!
