Fiddle player Galen Fraser (@galenphraser) has developed his unique modern sound blending the sounds of traditional music with influences of pop, funk, and other styles. Galen has shared the stage with musicians in the folk world such as Natalie & Brittany Haas, Hanneke Cassel, and Alasdair Fraser. He juggles gigs with multiple groups including: Soulsha, Atlantic Folk Trio, and his Galen Fraser Quartet. Along with a busy gig schedule, Galen also teaches at various fiddle camps such as Valley of the Moon and Sierra Fiddle camp. In August of 2016 he released his debut album entitled Mischief Managed. In the conversation, we talk with Galen about how he maintains the frequency of gigs and lessons in multiple countries, his inspirations for his new album, and much more.
